In the Innovations in e-learning course, our group created a course that focused on Moodle (Modular Object-Oriented-Dynamic Learning Environment), an open-source, online courseware platform that runs on all major operating systems.  It consists of several features considered typical of an e-learning platform, plus some original innovations (like its filtering system). Moodle is a learning management system. It can be used in many types of environments such as in education, training and development, and business.

 

Existing Moodle features will be leveraged to meet needs defined by teachers. However, developers can also extend Moodle's modular construction by creating plugins for specific new functionality.

Our goal in our lessons will be to introduce the educational community to Moodle and the wide range of features it provides that enable teachers/trainers to maximize on utilizing students learning styles.
